Taylor Swift Responds to Selena Gomez Engagement Announcement: ‘Yes I Will Be the Flower Girl’

Taylor Swift has consented to serve as the “flower girl” at Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding.
On Wednesday, December 11, a giddy Gomez, 32, posted on Instagram to announce her engagement to Blanco, 36, showing off her diamond ring and writing, “forever begins now…”
Swift, Gomez’s longtime friend, appeared in the post’s comment section shortly after.
For over 15 years, Swift, 34, and Gomez have had a close relationship. They first met in 2008 when they went on a double date with Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas, respectively.
In fact, the Jonas Brothers and I dated together! In a 2017 radio interview, Gomez recalled, “It was hysterical.” Because [Taylor] was the girl with the large, curly hair, the numerous bracelets, and the cowboy boots, it was incredible. We clicked, and I was undoubtedly on the rise.

Swift and Gomez discovered a supportive best friend in one another, but they were unable to find enduring love with Joe or Nick. The two women have frequently exaggerated each other’s professional successes and put an end to any trolls or rivalries that may have arisen.
In 2022, Gomez told Rolling Stone, “I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities.” I remember feeling like I didn’t belong because Taylor is really the only person I have in the industry. I sensed that everyone in my immediate vicinity was living their lives to the fullest. I was really happy in this position, but was I? Do I feel content with these material possessions? Because I didn’t know who I was, I simply didn’t like who I was.

The Golden Globe-nominated actress accompanied her younger sister, Gracie, to Swift’s wildly successful Eras Tour in April 2023. The pair wore their favorite Swiftie eras for the performance: Gracie, who received a hat from the “All Too Well” singer during the performance, wore a purple Speak Now dress and ponytail, while Gomez dressed as Folklore.
“Thank you, best friend, for allowing my sister and I to enter your magical, blissful, and unique world. I’m honored to know you! “I will always and forever love you,” the Only Murders in the Building star wrote to her best friend on Instagram.
A few months later, Gomez released “Single Soon,” her first new single in two years.
Swift, for one, praised the record on Instagram, writing, “When [your] bestie is the bestest.” I think I’ll be dancing to this forever.
When Gomez and Swift posed for a picture at the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards the following year, they were beaming. Later, cameras captured the pair chatting with Miles Teller’s wife, Keleigh Teller, about what had happened that evening.
Gomez revealed on Instagram that she “told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up” after the video went viral. That isn’t [anyone’s] concern.
