Ree Drummond Is a Grandma! Daughter Alex Welcomes First Baby, Daughter Sofia, with Husband Mauricio Scott

The daughter of the Food Network star gave birth to Sofia with her husband Mauricio Scott on Wednesday, Dec. 18.

Alex Drummond Scott, the daughter of Ree Drummond, has given birth to her first child, officially turning the Pioneer Woman star into a grandmother!

On Wednesday, December 18, Alex, 27, celebrated the arrival of her first child, a daughter named Sofia Marie, alongside her husband Mauricio Scott. The new mother announced the thrilling news on Instagram, accompanied by a collection of black and white images of the pair with their newborn.

“At 2:27am, our wonderful girl arrived a few weeks early, just in time for Christmas!” “We are deeply in love and altered for eternity,” the couple’s caption stated. “Thanks to You, Lord.”

Ree, 55, expressed her joy for the achievement on her Pioneer Woman website, posting a picture of herself holding Sofia in her arms. The delighted grandmother referred to Sofia as “perfect.”

“I’m expressing that as objectively as possible,” Ree stated. “Seriously, I’m not joking…she is flawless.” For instance, if you searched for ‘perfect’ in Merriam-Webster, it would likely mention Sofia Scott and might even include a picture of her. “Though that would likely be considered an encyclopedia in a technical sense.”

In October, Alex posted photos on Instagram from her baby shower decorated with flowers, which was attended by family and friends, and also announced the name that she and her husband Mauricio Scott chose for their daughter.

“Yesterday was all I could have hoped for in honoring our Sofia Marie. 🥹💕,” she wrote in the post, which was shared on Sunday, Oct. 20. “Thank the Lord for these amazing women and countless others!”

Pictures from the baby shower highlighted Alex’s magenta and white floral dress, along with her friends and family donning floral and pink outfits. Alex also displayed a gift basket featuring Sofia’s initials stitched on it.

Ree additionally posted photos from the festive occasion on her Pioneer Woman site. She expressed enthusiasm for the details involved in the baby shower organized by Alex’s college friends and her sister, Paige Drummond.

“At the party, Ree mentioned, there were “finger foods, a mimosa station, petit fours, and plenty of Dr Pepper.”

The shower also featured delightful details, such as champagne flutes adorned with ribbons around the stems, a calendar for attendees to predict Alex’s due date, baby pink cowgirl boots, and pictures of the expectant parents.
