Oprah Winfrey & Gayle King Out to Dinner for Gayle's Bday in NYC ... Friendship Full of Surprises!!!
Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King were seen in NYC celebrating Gayle’s 70th birthday, and Oprah surprised her long-time friend in an unexpected way.
The two friends visited Ci Siamo — a well-known eatery in Manhattan … Oprah wore a gold dress paired with a lengthy white coat, while Gayle opted for a subdued black and teal ensemble that harmonized beautifully with her scarf.
Megan Sullivan, the restaurant’s general manager, joined the two, entering the establishment for what Gayle appeared to believe would be a simple dinner … although Oprah had a significant surprise in store for her.
Winfrey shared a video from the eatery on her Instagram Saturday … entering with a preoccupied Gayle — as numerous voices yell “Surprise.”
Gayle is caught completely off guard as Oprah chuckles at her response … noting in the caption that surprising Gayle is quite difficult — and their group had to fabricate many stories to fool the star.
The camera turns towards the room … and observe the star power — Tina Knowles, Robert De Niro and numerous other well-known figures gathered to honor Gayle.
This was all for Gayle’s 70th birthday … which isn’t until December 28th — all part of the surprise, we believe.
Gayle and Oprah have been friends for many years, having first crossed paths in 1976 at a Baltimore TV station where Oprah worked as an anchor and Gayle was hired as a production assistant.
This friendship remains vibrant … and, evidently, it’s still loaded with surprises!
