Diddy Could Be Facing 300 Legal Cases Involving 'Equal Number of Men and Women,' Says Lawyer
On Wednesday, December 11, lawyer Tony Buzbee told the BBC that calls regarding Diddy are still coming in “every single day.”
A lawyer for several alleged victims has stated that the number of civil cases against Sean “Diddy” Combs is probably “in the 300 range.”
On Wednesday, December 11, Tony Buzbee told the BBC that since he called for potential victims to come forward through social media and a press conference on October 1, he believes his team has received about 3,000 calls.
People have been calling “every single day,” he continued, according to the outlet.
He told the BBC, “I think realistically, it’ll be about 100 to 150 cases, but I think the potential [number of] cases is probably in the 300 range.”
According to the BBC, which cited Buzbee, Combs has been accused of misconduct by roughly equal numbers of men and women over a 20-year period. According to the publication, Buzbee has so far received 20 lawsuits from men and women requesting damages from Combs.

In response, Combs’ legal team said that Buzbee’s “barrage of lawsuits against Mr. Combs” are “shameless publicity stunts, designed to extract payments from celebrities who fear having lies spread about them, just as lies have been spread about Mr. Combs.” Buzbee claimed that there could be 300 cases involving Combs.
“Mr. Combs has complete faith in the facts and the fairness of the legal system, as his legal team has stated previously. The truth will win out in court: Mr. Combs never sexually abused or trafficked any individual, adult or child, they continued.
“The press conference and 1-800 number that preceded today’s barrage of filings were clear attempts to garner publicity,” Combs’ legal team stated in a statement released on October 14. The facts, their defenses, and the fairness of the legal system are all things that Mr. Combs and his legal team are completely confident in. The truth will win out in court: Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted a person, adult or child, male or female.
Following the initial round of complaints from Buzbee’s clients, Combs’ lawyers had previously stated in a statement that the mogul “cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus” and that he “emphatically” denied violating anyone’s sexual rights.
After being indicted in September on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution, Combs is currently in federal custody in New York City and is facing a growing number of allegations.
In relation to the alleged incidents, Buzbee also filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, on Sunday, December 8. This came after the rapper was named in an amended complaint that claimed he and Combs had raped a 13-year-old girl 24 years prior. The lawsuit was first submitted in October.
The plaintiff claimed that after being driven to an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000, she was assaulted. According to the complaint that PEOPLE previously obtained, she has only been identified as Jane Doe.

Carter criticized Buzbee in a long reply on Roc Nation’s X (previously known as Twitter) account on Sunday.
He had calculated that I would want to settle because of the nature of these accusations and the public scrutiny. It did the exact opposite, sir! I felt compelled to publicly reveal you as the phony that you are. Therefore, no, I won’t give you a single red penny. Part of what Carter wrote.
In light of the ongoing allegations, Buzbee told the BBC that it is “very likely” that more prominent members of the industry will be named.
“The alleged behavior is fairly widespread, if you just look at it. Anything goes in the party culture that was established,” the attorney told the outlet.
Combs has repeatedly been refused bail despite entering a not guilty plea. May 2025 is the date of his trial.
