The husband of tennis legend Serena Williams, Alexis Ohanian, posted on Instagram about a recent health scare in which he claims to have had half of his thyroid removed.
In a Thanksgiving day post, the Reddit co – founder and entrepreneur defined everything. He included a picture of himself in a hospital bed, gowned up, with a scar on his neck, and stated that the procedure was necessary after “observing some suspicious nodules on my thyroid for the last 4 years.”

The nodules continued to expand over time, according to Alexis, and his most recent diagnosis indicated that “they’d very likely turn cancerous”; he said he wasn’t going to take a chance.
“My mom had breast cancer around this age (41) and then ultimately died from brain cancer a ten years or so later,” Serena’s husband said, highlighting his own personal connection to cancer. I detest cancer.

Overall, Alexis reports that the surgery went well, and that the worst part is that he won’t be able to lift for two weeks. This is obviously a mild problem in comparison to the risk he was taking before it was removed.
Before wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving, Alexis concluded his post by instructing his “fellow men” to get checked out, “especially if y’all are dads.”

He also shared pics of his children, Olympia, age 6, and Adira, age 1. We assume that this year he is appreciate for his children, his wife, Serena, and his health.
